This ep was twisted and made me squirm like no other. The gore - Dean torturing Alastair, Sam drinking Ruby's blood, Anna stabbing that spike through Uriel's neck......eww eww EWWWW!!! I had to look away from the screen more than a few times! But O.....M.....G!.......DEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEAN!!! D: Dean was the first seal! And now the Apocalypse must end with Dean! That's why they need him, because it begins and ends with DEAN! He broke my friggin heart while in that hospital bed....what he said. :'( And he cried.....AGAIN!! I can't take much more of this!!! This battle, this war............we are never going to have our snarky, lovable, pie-eating Dean back. He's never going to be the same. I know the show has to change and grow and be different. It can't stay like S1 and S2 forever, that would just be boring and redundant. But Jesus H. CHRIST what is happening to our boys?! They can't DO this to them and then make it all ok in the end. I just....I just want to sit in the corner and cry for them. DX

ETA: The actor who plays Alastair is mutha effin on the MARK! He freaked me the hell out. Kudos to him for making me truly scared of fictional TV demons. *shivers*

I think I this is the first time I've been speechless/stunned for about 85% of an episode. Definitely a mind blowing episode. And, you're right, we're never going to get our boys back. I think I spent half the episode mourning for S1/S2 SPN, but also hoping the this ends in a way that will bring the boys some peace.

And, yes...Alastair gave me goosebumps. He was appropriately creepy!

I lost count of how many times I covered my gaping mouth with my hand just repeating OMG OMG OMG over and over again. Every scene just blew me away.

I'm still in shock. This episode was frickin brilliant. Dean made me clutch my heart when he started crying in the hospital bed. My complete reaction to this episode is on my page if you want to take a read.

Oh, god, this episode was AMAZING!!!

I...am probably very unsupportive, but I hope Dean doesn't take it personally even though I know he will. It could have been anyone who broke the seal, it just happened to be him. Sam needs to heal him and give him hugs and make him feel better.

Meanwhile, Anna can be off taking care of all the badassery. <3

I was on the fence about Anna (or perhaps the actress who plays Anna) until the end of this ep. My fist pumped the air when she wasted Uriel. I honestly wasn't expecting that. I think I might have even shouted "you go giiiirl!"...just a little bit, lol!

I've really liked Anna since I Know What You Did Last Summer, but now I worship her. That was SO awesome. I was just sitting there thinking, "C'mon, Anna, get him, get him, YES!"

Yes. Exactly. Jensen's portrayal of Dean in this episode was heartbreaking. Like I said in my journal/review: Who do I have to sleep with to get this man an Emmy?

Character growth... In this case it's going to emotionally break me.

Christopher Hyerdahl was Stunning as Alistair. I don't know who's idea it was to have him sing, but it was freakin' Genius.

Jensen deserves an Emmy every other WEEK on this show, for srs! But am I a sick little puppy for being turned on by dark!Dean though? GUH!

But sad!Dean slays me. The scene in the hospital, when Cas came clean about everything...well, mostly everything. GOD. I want to hug Dean and kiss his temple and rock him and whisper sweet nothings and just TAKE HIM AWAY from it all. *wibbles*

Oh man... Dark!Dean was pretty hot. He tried so damn hard to not care about torturing someone. But in the end he couldn't keep it up. I really really hope that Castiel was able to work some mojo on him to help him forget.

So agree with you about Alistair.
I was absurdly in love with Pediatrician-wearing-Alistair, but this guy? Takes the freaking cake, by far.

My husband has been on a SPN marathon-spree for like 2 weeks... he's watched the ENTIRE series and the other day he had like two episodes left and he says to me: "I miss snarky Dean! They're both moping around... I don't like DARK!DEAN!!" I had JUST seen a preview for this episode and said "Uhhhhhh... well.... uhhhhhh... I think snarky Dean's gonna be a few episodes away!"

This episode was by far the darkest, saddest, deepest episode EVER. DEAN omg... the crying at the end! It kills me how Jensen can do that. He learned that on soaps. :)

This ep was the deepest of this season by far and this season has been the deepest of the series. I miss the old seasons, but I'm amazed and excited to see where the show is headed. Kripke wasn't kidding when he said they'd pulled out all the stops for this season. :O

Your poor hubby is in for a wee bit of disappointment, lol. No snarky Dean in sight.
